Workers at the Dubai Mini Mart said they were able to grab a 12-foot-by-12-foot section of the carpet, which stretched in front of the store in the lead-up to the awards show Sunday, and the owner of the store is now attempting to sell the carpet on eBay with a starting bid of $500 or a Buy It Now price of $5,000, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.
"You never know," store worker Abdul Ibrahim. "People buy weird things all the time."
The owner of the store said he will cut the carpet into pieces for his kids to use if it fails to sell by Monday.
