NORTHBROOK, Ill., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Allstate Insurance Co., based in Illinois, said its analysis of claims data indicates the safest U.S. city for driving is Fort Collins, Colo.
The company said its ninth annual Allstate America's Best Drivers Report, based on the company's own claims data from the past year, indicates an average customer in Fort Collins will experience a traffic collision once every 13.9 years, 28.2 percent lower than the 10-year national average.
"Congratulations to Fort Collins for continuing to demonstrate excellence in safe driving," said Mike Roche, Allstate's senior vice president of claims. "Allstate's Best Drivers Report was created to boost awareness about the importance of being safe and attentive behind the wheel, while providing drivers with tips and resources to improve their driving skills."
The cities rounding out Allstate's Top 10 were Boise, Idaho; Sioux Falls, S.D.; Brownsville, Texas; Madison, Wis.; Reno, Nev.; Huntsville, Ala.; Visalia, Calif.; Montgomery, Ala.; and Eugene, Ore.
