YEKATERINBURG, Russia, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Russian police in the Urals mountains said they are searching for a crocodile sighted on the loose in the area.

Yekaterinburg police said Wednesday the croc was first spotted near the city circus, but circus officials said none of their crocodiles were missing, RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.

Police said the crocodile, which a traffic patrol last spotted heading toward the Iset river, may have escaped from an exotic pet store or a private owner.
