AUBURN, N.H., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire man who chronicled his marijuana-growing operation on YouTube was sentenced to a year in jail with four months suspended.

Kyle Berry of Auburn pleaded guilty to manufacturing a controlled drug after he was arrested by authorities tipped off to his marijuana-growing operation by a series of videos he posted to YouTube, WMUR-TV, Manchester, reported Wednesday.

"Showing how to grow it, how to set it up, what chemicals he uses, where he gets his seeds," Assistant Rockingham County Attorney Jerome Blanchard said of the videos. "He's very detailed about how he is doing it."

Berry told the court he was planning to use the marijuana for medical uses and was not planning to sell any of the drug.

"I did it because since 13, I've had 17 surgeries," Berry said. "I didn't realize how bad the medications I was on were clouding my judgment and killing me."

Judge Marguerite Wageling sentenced Berry to one year in jail with four months suspended. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine.

"Someone can't be all that smart to go on YouTube and post the types of video footage that you did," Wageling said.
