Terry Lee of The Downtown Hotel in Dawson City said a customer did the famous Sourtoe Cocktail, which involves drinking a shot of whiskey with a preserved human toe in the glass, and paid the $500 "fine" when he swallowed the toe, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Wednesday.
Lee said the bar had a backup toe to carry on its tradition. He said the toe has been swallowed a few times in the past, but Saturday marked the first time the toe swallowing seemed to be intentional.
He said the bar is raising the toe-swallowing fine to $2,500.
