Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe DINWIDDIE, Va., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Three people who made it through a Virginia bull run without injuries ended up with minor wounds from a flying camera drone. Brad Fillius said he went to the Great Bull Run in Dinwiddie with his wife and several friends Saturday and they made it through the 11 a.m. run without any injuries, WTVR-TV, Richmond, Va., reported Tuesday. Advertisement Fillius, a naval commander stationed in Norfolk, Va., said the group went to the stands to watch the later runs and they soon spotted a remote-controlled camera drone taking video of the event. He said he was shocked when the device fell from the sky and hit him in the chest. The device also struck two of Fillius' friends, Eileen Peskoff and Patrick Lewis. "Because I saw it, I was able to put up my hands to protect my face, but my fingers felt numb at first because they were hit by the propellers," Peskoff said. The three friends said their injuries did not appear to be serious and event organizers offered to refund their participation fees as compensation. "The reason that was given to us was that the UAV or the drone, the battery had died, and it basically plummeted because of that," Fillius said.
