VERO BEACH, Fla., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a man who pleaded no contest to a drunken driving charge tried but failed to urinate out the window of a moving police cruiser.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Department said Devin Langford, 23, was arrested on a drunken driving charge last month and told Deputy Brian Bell during the ride to jail he had to urinate, The Smoking Gun reported Wednesday.

Langford, who the arrest report said had "a plethora of empty beer cans" in his truck, asked Bell if he could attempt to urinate out the back window.

Bell wrote he told Langford to just urinate in his pants, but the suspect, who managed to work his cuffed hands around to the front of his body, "proceeded to pull down his trousers, kneel on the back seat, and attempt to urinate out the rear passenger side window" of the moving vehicle.

The deputy wrote Langford's poor aim resulted in "his urine landing on the passenger side seat and floorboard" of the patrol car.

Langford pleaded no contest to the July 10 charge last week and was sentenced to a year of probation and ordered to attend DUI school. His driver's license was suspended for six months.
