OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Oklahoma's lottery commission describes the promotion of its telephone number, which actually connects to a sex talk line, an oversight.

Callers to the toll-free number, seeking to learn winning lottery numbers or receive other lottery information, are connected to "America's Hottest Talk Line," which encourages callers to listen to, and describe their own, sexual fantasies, KWTV-TV, Oklahoma City, reported Wednesday.

The toll-free number is printed on the backs of newly sold Oklahoma lottery tickets and can be found on the lottery's website.

The telephone number is "no longer owned by us," said Rollo Redburn, Oklahoma lottery director, adding the commission discontinued the phone number in 2010. Regarding the phone number on the lottery tickets, Redburn said, "They must have used an old roll of paper stock."

The incident has caused some problems.

"I thought I dialed the wrong number so I got my glasses and dialed again, and it was an adult phone line," lottery player Ladonna Dobbs said.

The phone number was removed from the lottery website Monday.
