Kjell Sorbo, nicknamed "the Crab King," displayed live crabs in Kjollefjord for tourists, but officials with the country's food standards agency ordered him to cease the practice, The Local.no reported Wednesday.
"It is not natural for a crab to be exposed to strong light, heat and noise outside water. It can also be seasick during transport, it is quite well known," agency spokesman Robin Martinsen said. "Crabs have feelings too, and like other animals they have the right to be treated properly."
Sorbo said his appeal against the order was rejected.
