HOUSTON, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- A Texas couple say they discovered the video monitor they relied on to watch their toddlers allowed a peeping Tom to virtually enter their daughter's room.

Marc Gilbert said last weekend he heard a voice in the bedroom of his 2-year-old daughter. And it wasn't speaking baby talk, KTRX-TV in Houston reported Tuesday.

"He said, 'Wake up Allyson, you little [expletive],'" Gilbert said.

The Houston-area dad realized the voice was coming from the camera when the monitor swiveled toward him as Gilbert and his wife approached.

The voice apparently knew the child's name because it was written on the bedroom wall.

Gilbert pulled the plug on the camera and believes someone hacked into both the camera and the computer router.

"It felt like somebody broke into our house," he said.

Allyson wasn't aware of the sexually oriented language used by the electronic intruder. Born deaf, she has cochlear implants, which her parents had removed for the evening.
