Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood said Sgt. Penny Dane, an 18-year veteran of law enforcement, resigned after admitting to being on duty while using her work computer to post sexually explicit pictures of herself online as part of a game called "Red Light Center," which is designed to resemble a virtual sex club, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Monday.
"It's something in my 26 years in law enforcement that I've never seen," Chitwood said.
Investigators said Dane would switch off the GPS tracking device in her patrol car so she could access the game while she was supposed to be supervising other officers.
Police said 177 sexually explicit images were found on her office desktop computer, 97 were found on the laptop in her patrol car and at least 23 of the pictures were of Dane.
Chitwood said the pictures were "extremely pornographic in nature, and in several of the photos that we have since discovered, she was in her uniform."
Police said Chitwood's activities were discovered when she accused another officer of sexual harassment and investigators looked over her emails.
