Park officials said the sensor malfunctioned and caused the WindSeeker ride to stop working Sunday at the Charlotte park and the more than 60 riders were stranded for about an hour before being lowered to the ground, WCNC-TV, Charlotte, reported Monday. Carowinds parent company Cedar Fair temporarily shut down WindSeeker rides across the country in September after about 300 people were stranded at Carowinds in a similar incident.
