'Giant panda channel' soon to launch 24-hour live stream online

CHENGDU, China, July 28 (UPI) -- Internet users will be able to watch live broadcasts of giant pandas living in southwest China beginning next month, Chinese officials said Sunday.

"Giant panda channel," or ipanda.com, will give users 24-hour access to 28 high definition cameras installed in the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, China's official Xinhua News Agency reported.

The online television station, which began posting video clips June 24, has so far attracted nearly 15,000 internet users.
