LACROSSE, Wis., July 22 (UPI) -- The mystery of the identity of an older woman, rocking out on drums in a YouTube video, has been solved in a Lacrosse, Wis., music store.

She is Mary Hvizda, 63, of Onalaska, Wis., and a video of one of her regular visits to the Coalition Drum Shop in LaCrosse, Wis., has been seen by millions, WKBT-TV, LaCrosse, reported Monday.

In 1963, at age 15, she was a drummer in the Chantells, which Hvizda claims was the area's first all-girl rock band, pioneers in a male-dominated industry.

"It really took a lot of tolerance with customers, or other make musicians, to hang in there and to just keep going if they laughed at us or made fun of us," she said.

Hvizda says the nickname "Grandma Drummer," bestowed on her by YouTube, pleases her, although she never married and has no grandchildren. She did not even own a computer until several days ago, WKBT-TV said.

I still like to go to the music store and play a drum set, and that's it. My music urge has been satisfied," she said.

The Coalition Drum Shop said it will present her with a drum kit of her own.
