SALVAGE, Newfoundland, July 19 (UPI) -- A septuagenarian Canadian man who lifted a sport utility vehicle off his trapped son-in-law says he's "not super, I just did what I could do."

Cecil Stuckless, 72, says his son-in-law Frank Vatcher was replacing the brakes on his SUV in Salvage, Newfoundland, recently when the vehicle fell on him, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

"He bawled out, he said, 'Cec, help me,' and when I turned around, the Jeep was on top of him," Stuckless said.

Stuckless said he lifted the vehicle just enough for Vatcher to extricate himself.

"If I wasn't there -- if nobody was there -- I'd say he wouldn't have done it, wouldn't have gotten out himself. I'd say he wouldn't make it, to wiggle out from underneath."

Vatcher was taken to a hospital where he had 38 stitches in his head, the CBC said.

"One feller come on yesterday and spoke to me about it and he said, 'What are you, Superman?'" Stuckless said.

"I said ... no, I'm not super, I just did what I could do -- that's all that's to it.'"
