FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 19 (UPI) -- A suspected jewel thief missed a Broward County, Fla., court hearing Friday, the day after she appeared in court and her arrest record went unnoticed.

It was not mentioned in court Thursday that Ryan Elkins -- suspected of participating in a ring of bar-hopping women who allegedly drug their victims to steal jewelry -- has an arrest warrant issued for her. She was identified last month by authorities as one of several women wanted in the robbery and theft ring, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

The crime ring's methods include women seducing men to steal luxury items. One victim was an unidentified member of the New York Giants football team who lost nearly $450,000 in jewelry, the newspaper said, adding several other victims claim they were drugged into unconsciousness.

County sheriff's officials said they were unaware of Elkins' Thursday court hearing, and prosecutors said they were unaware of the warrant.

Elkins is accused of teaming with another woman in April to accompany a man home from a bar, drug him and steal a wristwatch, two guns and three diamonds valued at over $250,000, court records said.
