SAN FRANCISCO, July 19 (UPI) -- The San Francisco Zoo announced a baby western lowland gorilla was born to parents Nneka and Oscar Jonsey.

The zoo said the baby girl was born at 2 p.m. Wednesday and is the first offspring for 14-year-old Nneka and the second for 31-year-old silverback Oscar Jonsey.

The baby gorilla, who has not yet been named, weighed in at 5 pounds, 1 ounce at the time of her birth and is in good health.

Zoo officials said the six members of the gorilla troop will be off display for a few days while they bond with the newest addition.
