BROOKSVILLE, Fla., July 9 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said a man on probation was arrested when a police officer discovered a marijuana cigarette behind his ear during a traffic stop.

The Brooksville Police Department said David Alan McBurnett, 22, who is on felony probation for homicide/manslaughter culpable negligence, was pulled over Friday in Brooksville for an equipment violation, Hernando Today, Brooksville, reported Tuesday.

The officer noticed an apparent joint behind McBurnett's ear while he was retrieving his license and vehicle documents.

The cigarette tested positive for marijuana in a field test.

McBurnett was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana of less than 20 grams and violation of felony probation. The suspect was held without bail and his car was impounded.
