VLADIVOSTOK, Russia, July 7 (UPI) -- Residents of Vladivostok, Russia, Sunday broke the Guinness World Record for most participants in a living image, officials said.

A total of 26,904 Vladivostok residents came together at 7 a.m. on the city's Zolotoy Bridge and held red, blue and white flags in the air to create a living image of Russia's national flag, ITAR-Tass reported.

Guinness World Records Editor in Chief Craig Glenday attended the event and presented a document certifying the record to Vladivostok Mayor Igor Pushkarev.

The previous record was set in Pakistan, where 24,200 people created an image of the Pakistani flag.
