Student, brother allegedly attacked driving instructor

ASHKELON, Israel, July 5 (UPI) -- An Israeli driving instructor said he was shocked when a student attacked him following his third failed test in a week.

Yair Ohana, 49, of Ashkelon, said the 27-year-old student's 32-year-old brother called and asked to speak with him about his brother's failed test, Ynetnews reported Friday.

"I told him I was busy, but he called the director of the driving school, who told me, 'What do you care? Explain to him why his brother failed,'" Ohana said.

Ohana said he met with the student and his brother near the licensing office and they attacked him immediately.

Police said the incident was recorded by a security camera.

"He just lunged at me," Ohana said. "He didn't say anything. No 'hello,' nothing. He began hitting me immediately."

He said the men broke his glasses and dragged him to the street "so that cars would hit me."

"From there I went directly to get medical treatment. My lower lip was split open, and my false teeth were broken. I couldn't sleep at all that night because I couldn't believe what had happened to me," Ohana said.

The older brother was arrested and indicted at Ashkelon Magistrate's Court on a charge of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Police said they were searching for the younger man.
