Police: Man bit grandmother, punched grandfather

July 5, 2013 at 4:34 PM

DELTONA, Fla., July 5 (UPI) -- Police in Florida said they arrested a man accused of biting his grandmother when she confronted him for drinking two bottles of her wine.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said Sue Wilson, 59, of Deltona told deputies she arrived at her Deltona home Tuesday evening and found her grandson, Blake Hale, 19, acting drunk and two bottles of her wine were missing, The Daytona Beach (Fla.) News-Journal reported Friday.

The woman said she confronted Hale and he became defensive and shouted profanities at her. She said the argument turned physical and Hale bit her on the shoulder as she attempted to walk out the front door.

Wilson's 70-year-old husband, Hale's grandfather, told deputies Hale punched him in the face, causing a minor bloody nose.

Hale was arrested and charged with battery on a person 65 years or older and battery.
