HAYWARD, Calif., June 25 (UPI) -- Police in California said a masked robber took about $3,000 and a bottle of cognac from a liquor store.

Hayward police Sgt. Mark Ormsby said a clerk at the Stop By Market and Liquor in Hayward said the masked gunman came in shortly before 10:40 p.m. Saturday and demanded cash, the Bay Area News Group of San Ramon reported Tuesday.

Ormsby said the robber fled with about $3,000 cash and a bottle of Remy Martin cognac.

The investigation is ongoing, Ormsby said.
