MOSCOW, June 21 (UPI) --
The lower house of the Russian parliament voted Friday in favor of measures to allow banning of rabble-rousers from sporting events for as long as seven years.
The measures, part of a bill dubbed the Fan Law, must pass a second and third reading in the Duma and, if passed, will then go before the upper house of the parliament, RIA Novosti reported Friday.
The Fan Law is aimed at protecting the 2018 football World Cup in Russia from troublemakers.
