SEATTLE, June 16 (UPI) -- An assault suspect was arrested after he was found hiding in a sofa storage compartment in Seattle, the police department said in a release.

The suspect, whose name is not being released, fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

The victim told police that the suspect had at least three firearms in the apartment and that two children were present during the assault.

Two hours later, police received another 911 call from the same apartment, but the call was disconnected.

Officers reported to the scene, but were not able to gain access to the apartment through the door.

They called the SWAT team due to the firearms in the residence, and shortly after, the victim and her children voluntarily came out of the apartment.

The SWAT team and officers entered the apartment, and found the suspect hidden in a storage bin in a sectional sofa.

Police arrested him and he was booked into King County Jail.
