Yanagi was found around 8 a.m. Thursday, lying next to his pickup truck about 164 feet below the road. The man, who was conscious, told police his truck had gone off the road and fell down the farm cliff. He said he was able to crawl out of the truck, but was unable to move far due to his broken ribs causing pain in his lungs and a condition in his legs that requires him to walk with a cane.

Yanagi said he had not had anything to eat or drink since the crash. Police said he told them he was "relieved" when officers arrived.
