USOLYE, Russia, June 12 (UPI) -- Organizers of the first Russian Mosquito Festival said the event will feature, among other things, a mosquito-catching competition.

The organizers of the July 19-21 event said on their website, Ruskomar.ru, the festival will take place in the town of Usolye and will also feature a a meat skewer-cooking contest and a competition for writing the best mosquito-themed song, RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.

The festival will also feature a children's fashion show and an event billed only as "the tastiest girl."

The organizers said alcohol will not be allowed at the festival but an "army of blondes" will keep things interesting.
