NYC Police: Cyclist tried to bribe officer with personal training

June 10, 2013 at 2:53 PM

NEW YORK, June 10 (UPI) -- Police in New York said a cyclist tried to get out of a citation by offering his services as a personal trainer to an officer.

Investigators said Wesley Fecu, 30, was cited Saturday for riding his mountain bike on the sidewalk in the city's Brooklyn borough, the New York Post reported Monday.

Fecu allegedly told the officer he would give free personal training sessions at Synergy Fitness in exchange for canceling the summons.

Fecu is now facing bribery charges in addition to the citation, police said.
