Romanian flag measures more than 360 yards long

CLINCENI, Romania, May 27 (UPI) -- A more than 360-yard-long Romanian flag creators hope will be certified as the world's largest was unveiled in the country Monday.

The flag, which measures 360.9 yards long and 240.6 yards tall, was created by TV station Antena 3 and flag maker FabricadeSteaguri and was unveiled Monday at the Clinceni aerodrome, Romania-Insider.com reported Monday.

The Hawks aerobatics team was on hand Monday to perform a flying show for the unveiling of the flag, which was kept atop a pole by 2,000 sand bags colored in the hues of the country's flag.

A Guinness World Records team was on hand to verify the flag as the world's largest, Romania-Insider.com said.
