GULFPORT, Fla., May 23 (UPI) -- Florida police said a woman accused of domestic battery allegedly used a garden gnome decked out in New Orleans Saints gear to strike a man in the head.

Gulfport police said Lisa Buckley, 47, arrived home around 4:17 p.m. Sunday "and began yelling at the victim" to start an argument that soon turned physical, the Tampa Bay (Fla.) Times reported Thursday.

Buckley "threw items all around the residence and then picked up a New Orleans Saints garden gnome and struck [the victim] with it," Officer Jennifer Crowson wrote in her report.

Crowson wrote she arrived at the scene to find Buckley gone and the alleged victim bleeding from his left ear and the side of his head. The man, whose relationship to Buckley was not specified, declined medical attention.

Police said Buckley sent text messages to the man the following day asking him to drop his case against her.

Buckley was arrested Tuesday and charged with domestic battery and harassing a victim. She was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $5,000 bail.
