May 20, 2013 at 5:06 PM

MILWAUKIE, Ore., May 20 (UPI) -- Police in Milwaukie, Ore., said they rescued a pair of escaped baby goats found wandering in traffic near their owner's home.

Milwaukie police officer Crystal Hill said the kids were seen "running amok" in a city street and were corralled into a nearby yard before being taken to the police department, The (Portland) Oregonian reported Monday.

The owner of the goats soon called police and reported the pets, which had recently been acquired, had escaped from their yard.

The animals were returned to their owner, police said.
