CHICAGO, May 17 (UPI) -- The operations manager at Chicago's Navy Pier said he would attempt to set a world record by riding a Ferris wheel for 48 hours non-stop.

Shepherd is aiming to beat the Guinness World Record for a continuous fairground or theme park ride, 30 hours and 35 seconds.

Shepherd said Ferris wheel fans could hitch a free ride with him.
