Advertising firm Marchex said it used "call mining" speech recognition technology to analyze more than 600,000 calls from the past year to businesses in 30 industries and discovered customers from Washington state were the least likely to use profanity during calls, with only one out of 301 callers using a curse word, The Seattle Times reported Wednesday.
Callers from Ohio were found to be the most likely to use profanity, with one out of 147 phone calls featuring salty language.
Meanwhile, the analysis found South Carolina callers were the most likely to use "please" and "thank you" during calls while Wisconsinites were the least likely to use polite language.
