Mayoral candidate claims endorsement from Jesus

NORTH MIAMI, Fla., May 14 (UPI) -- A Florida mayoral candidate who previously complained of a voodoo curse against her now says her campaign is endorsed by Jesus Christ.

North Miami mayoral candidate Anna Pierre, who previously said opponents were using voodoo sorcery against her, posted a campaign-style flier to her Facebook page claiming she received Jesus' endorsement, The Miami Herald reported Tuesday.

Pierre said Jesus came to her in a dream.

"I had a revelation when I was going to give up on this race. I had a dream. I know what I saw," she said Monday. "A figure I can't explain told me, 'Don't be afraid. I am your friend. I am walking with you side by side. You are not alone.' I felt it was from heaven. It was an endorsement by Jesus."

Voters in North Miami are going to the polls Tuesday to choose a mayor and two city councilors.
