PORTSMOUTH, England, May 13 (UPI) -- Police in Britain said they were searching for a man who made his getaway on a mobility scooter traveling 4 mph.

Investigators said a 79-year-old woman accidentally left a shopping bag at a Tesco store in Portsmouth, England, that contained her purse and $137 cash, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

Police said the bag was gone when the woman returned for it and officers were on the lookout for a man seen riding in a mobility scooter in the vicinity. They released CCTV footage of the man.

"I would like to hear from anyone who can identify the man pictured in the CCTV as I believe he may be able to assist with enquiries," police Constable Sara White said.
