VIDYAYEVO, Russia, May 7 (UPI) -- The mayor of a Russian town where residents won't have hot water during the summer said locals will be allowed to visit the city's water park for free.

Mayor Sergei Dubovoi of Vidyayevo told Murmansk Gov. Marina Kovtun during a Monday meeting the 5,771 residents of his town will be without hot water during the summer months due to local fuel debts from the winter months, The Moscow Times reported Tuesday.

Dubovoi said residents will be allowed to visit the local Fregat water park for free to help ease the burden on families.

"You have a great water park," Kovtun said. "Many Murmansk residents envy you."

The governor also encouraged Dubovoi to resolve the debt issue for his residents.
