Texas zoo announces two monkey births

SAN ANTONIO, May 7 (UPI) -- The San Antonio Zoo said two monkeys, a howler monkey and a Goeldi's monkey have been born during the past month.

The zoo said the howler monkey was born April 13 to parents Sophie and Inti and the Goeldi's monkey was born April 16, the San Antonio Express-News reported Tuesday.

Officials said both of the monkey species are considered vulnerable due to loss of habitat.

The newborns are on display with their parents in the Amazonia section of the zoo.
