May 1, 2013 at 3:38 PM

PARIS, May 1 (UPI) -- Authorities in Paris said they arrested a man accused of hiding cameras in women's bathrooms at multiple bars in the city.

Police said a bar manager told officers he suspected the 36-year-old man of being behind a mini video camera discovered in a cigarette box left on the floor of the women's restroom, and investigators caught him in the act of placing another camera in a similar way at another bar, The Local.fr reported Wednesday.

Police said the man told officers he has "voyeuristic tendencies" and admitted to placing cameras in the women's bathrooms at five other bars in the city.

Investigators discovered multiple mini cameras disguised as pens in the man's home and he allegedly had more than 80 bathroom recordings on the hard drive of his computer.

The man is due in court June 5.
