SANTA CLARITA, Calif., April 30 (UPI) -- A California woman said she was driving on the freeway north of Los Angeles when a king snake slithered between her legs.
Angie Guerrero said she was on the 14 Freeway in Santa Clarita and nearly struck a car in the next lane when she was startled by the snake slithering on the floor between her legs, CBSLA.com reported Monday.
Guerrero said she pulled over to the side of the road, took her dogs out of the car and called 911.
The California Highway Patrol discovered the serpent hiding in the dashboard of the vehicle and animal experts identified it as a non-venomous king snake.
Guerrero said she will check her car for intruders before driving from now on.
"How would you know ... to look for snakes? Who would ever think?" she said.
