Police: Gun seized in Australia was used in 2006 shooting of officer

SYDNEY, April 27 (UPI) -- A Glock pistol seized this week in a drug raid in the Sydney area was used to shoot a police officer in 2006, police in Australia said.

The gun was found Wednesday in a house in the western suburbs, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on charges that included possession of the Glock, but investigators said there is no evidence he was involved in the shooting seven years ago.

The officer was wounded and has completely recovered. Police made an arrest in the shooting but never found the weapon that was used.
