ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 24 (UPI) -- The University of Michigan's School of Public Health hosted a "Zombie Apocalypse" to help raise awareness of emergency preparation and response.

The school said Tuesday's event, based on the U.S. Centers for Disease Control's "Zombie Apocalypse" educational program, simulated a zombie disaster situation to help participants learn about how to handle emergency situations.

The event was sponsored by the Epidemiology and Public Health Management of Disasters class and led by epidemiology faculty instructor Dr. Eden Wells.
