PALMA, Spain, April 18 (UPI) -- Police in Spain said they arrested a burglary suspect accused of breaking into a bar and falling asleep on a couch.

Investigators in Palma said they responded to a car at about 9 a.m. Tuesday and discovered a 50-year-old man had broken a window with a bar stool to gain access to the facility and ransacked the bar before falling asleep on a couch, The Local.es reported Thursday.

Police said the man, who was highly intoxicated, was found to be carrying several cellphones, credit cards, lipsticks and make-up cases, online newspaper Ultima Hora reported.

"I was so drunk I don't know what I was doing," police quoted the man as saying. "I've got no idea how I ended up sleeping on that couch."
