$8,000 found by Mass. store worker returned to owner

WEBSTER, Mass., April 11 (UPI) -- A man who dropped $8,000 in the parking lot of a Massachusetts store said he is grateful to the employee who found the cash for "being so honest."

Webster Police Detective James Hoover said Guy Lebouef, a worker at Shaw's supermarket in Webster, found a deposit bag in the store's parking lot Monday that contained $8,000, WCVB-TV, Boston, reported Thursday.

Lebouef took the money to his manager, who called police.

Hoover said he was able to return the cash to its owner, James Christian.

Christian told police he would like "to meet Mr. Leboeuf and thank him for being so honest."

Christian's request was granted Tuesday at the Webster Police Station and he was able to shake Lebouef's hand and express his gratitude.
