More than 21-foot wasp nest found in home

SAN SEBASTIAN DE LA GOMERA, Spain, April 9 (UPI) -- Police in Spain said they blocked off an empty home after officers discovered a wasp nest measuring more than 21 feet in a hallway.

San Sebastian de la Gomera police said concerned neighbors called police to the home and officers were shocked to discover the gargantuan nest and millions of wasps filling the house, thinkSpain reported Tuesday.

Experts said the wasps are believed to be an invasive species migrated from Africa as the native variety would not build a nest of such a large size.

Police are working to determine who owns the home.
