John Walker, 38, of Salem, who revealed his creation Monday at St. James Church to other former members of St. Joseph Church, which was torn down in January to make way for housing construction, said he started the project in October and spent approximately $2,000 on Lego blocks, the Boston Globe reported Tuesday. Walker said he still has to finish the church's roof and other details. He said his is aiming to have the project completed by October. "I just want St. Joseph to be remembered," Walker said. "Our whole family went there." Walker said he is hoping Salem's other four Catholic churches will agree to display his model once it is completed.
