ROCHESTER, Mich., April 7 (UPI) -- Pinball enthusiasts flocked to Oakland University in suburban Detroit for the fourth annual Michigan Pinball Expo, officials said.

Attendees at the four-day event in Rochester had access to 150 pinball machines, new and old, The Detroit News reported.

Organizers of the expo, which ended Sunday, said they expected thousands of people to show up; last year 3,000 people attended.

"Every hobby has its geeky side, but we wanted to make it accessible to families, children and the older people who remember playing it," said organizer John Kosmal, who owns and rents out pinball machines through his business Pinlicious Inc. "If we want [pinball] to come back, we're going to have to get kids interested."

Kathy Fitch, who attended the event Saturday, said it was fun.

"I haven't played in years," Fitch said. "It was fun, especially when you go back and play some of the older games. It's fun to have a fast-paced one."
