U.S. marshals transported Denny Hecker to a low-security federal facility in Englewood, Colo., this week, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Friday. He started the month in a prison in Loretto, Pa., then was sent to one in Canaan, Pa., before a short stop in Oklahoma City on his way to Englewood.
Hecker, who is serving a 10-year prison sentence for fraud, has previously been shuffled between facilities, including in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana.
He is expected to be released in July 2019.
The U.S. Bureau of Prisons declined to say why it is moving Hecker around the country. There are many reasons, including medical issues, behavioral problems, inmate protection concerns and getting an inmate closer to family or into select prison programs, the newspaper said.
