WEYMOUTH, Mass., March 27 (UPI) -- Massachusetts police said a man busted trying to break into a house had a to-do list with tasks including finding drugs and committing an altruistic act.

Investigators in Weymouth said they responded Friday to a report of a man carrying a bag and knocking on doors, The Patriot Ledger, Quincy, Mass., reported Wednesday.

The witnesses said they saw the man break into a garage and confronted him. They said he told them he was going door-to-door conducting a survey about opening a marijuana dispensary.

Officers arrived around 5 p.m. and witnessed Evan Dorsey, 25, knocking on a side door of a home, taking insulin and other supplies from a package on the doorstep and attempting to pry open the door.

Dorsey was arrested and found to be in possession of a blackjack, other burglary tools and about two dozen pieces of jewelry he could not explain.

Police said he was also carrying a notebook with a to-do list including reminders to find crystal meth, find cocaine, get a gold watch, conduct a break-in or rob a drug dealer, sell drugs and perform an altruistic act for a stranger.

"This is a first for us," police Capt. Richard Fuller said. "Those aren't things you would normally put on your daily to-do list."

Dorsey was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny of drugs, possession of Class E drugs, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property over $250, receiving stolen property $250 or less, carrying a dangerous weapon and attempting to commit a crime.
