OAK PARK, Ill., March 19 (UPI) -- The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park, Ill., said it is searching for a writer to use the attic where Hemingway spent his young years.

Allison Sansone, director of the Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park, said the attic at Hemingway's childhood home will be available for a writer to create a novel, epic poem or journalism project, but will not be a permanent residence, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

"Being in a historic home and in a space where one of America's greatest 20th century writers lived... appeals to some people," said John Berry, chair the foundation's board of directors.

Berry said the position is open to any writer and there are no requirements for age or level of writing experience.

"We'd just like to get a really interesting, creative person who likes to write and who values reading and writing," Berry said.
