SASKATOON, Saskatchewan, March 15 (UPI) -- A 59-year-old Canadian industrial mechanic stepped forward Friday to claim a $30 million lottery jackpot and announce he's quitting his job, officials said.

David Chaykowski of Big River, Saskatchewan, with his wife Gloria, 58, at his side, laid claim to the Lotto Max jackpot that was up for grabs in the March 8 drawing, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported. His ticket had the winning numbers -- 9, 15,17,28, 35, 39 and 41.

The Chaykowskis, who have three children, said they had no immediate plans for spending their winnings.

The prize was Saskatchewan's second-biggest lottery win ever, the CBC said. John and Darlene Kinzel of Paradise Hill won $40 million in the Aug. 19, 2011, Lotto Max drawing.
