BORDEAUX, France, March 1 (UPI) -- Three people were arrested for allegedly stealing 318 bottles of wine valued at $93,643 from France's Chateau Palmer vineyard, police said.

The wine was stolen Sunday night and the theft discovered the next morning, TheLocal.fr reported Friday.

The three suspects were taken into custody Wednesday and the missing bottles, which sell for about $294 apiece, were returned to the vineyard.

The local newspaper Sud-Ouest reported that Bordeaux police had been investigating a string of store break-ins in the area and raided some houses, finding stolen wine. The arrests followed.
